The new event in Japan is a cross between a Team Event and a Battle Arena, except it looks like you can choose your own teams. Here's the full Google Translate of the event notice

2. Battle Phase

■ About the placement organization

■ About Battle Phase

To increase the GP (guild points),

This is like the most enjoyable event I've ever played in my Fantasica history.

The battle scene is so pretty that made that ugly BA battle screen a joke

And since the team limit is 10 units / 200 DC (5 max for attack or defense; can be adjusted mid-battle-phase), I can utilize almost all of my unit collection that has been kept away in the inbox, which made me very happy.

Finally actual sprites in battle!

I'm curious about the ability to choose your team, judging by past BA events wouldn't it end with 5-6 teams way ahead of everybody else? Or is there some incentive for people with strongest BA setups not to team up with each other?

There's nothing stopping strong people from sticking together.
It's just inevitable.

The only downside is that only 1 person in the team will be able to become the MVP and get 3 free Green Drinks each fight (which is IMO a pretty much negligible reward for someone who can shell out several thousand dollars on cards).

However, a strong team will probably get matched up with another strong team, which will turn the game into a pot (or Green Drink) war where it will generate a lot of revenue for Mobage. : D

so its 10 of your units with a max of 200DC and yur fighting someone elses castle? which in turn over receive points for your guild?

my team = a mix of units of 200DC
aks/delfina/charles/etc all mine

or

10 of the whole guilds units of a total for 200 DC? so like each person u invite to your guild represents part of the team of 10units/200DC ?

ex) Bob - aks 25dc
Bill - Delfina 30 dc
Joe - Nina 15 dc
etc...

totalling 10 ppl for yur guild

Well, 10 people limit is kind of low for a persistant guild Smile The idea of having separate thematic channels ingame is very interesting imho - like they have them in some MMO's, as well as a group channel for temporarily formed player groups - wish Fanta could have them too, using ingame message box when talking to multiple people is not very convenient.

Now I take back that statement about this being the most enjoyable event.
Waking up really early in the morning for the morning fight, skipping luch for the noon fight, and hurrying back home for the evening fight is NOT FUN AT ALL. : (

The actual battle is somewhat enjoyable though, Razz
execpt maybe when both teams are spending Potions and you have to run back to Mina and pull several packs just for the Green Drinks because you hit the 10 Potions per battle limit.

Oh yes, the 200DC team limit is per player, just like the SS Kadaan posted.
However, this is not the typical form-an-uber-team-and-win event. It is a team event, and your position in the team will greatly affect what unit you should use.

There are 3 rows, front, middle, and back.

Each row has different bonus that will alter the stat of your unit.

Each attack will consume 30 action points per unit (totaling 150 points because you'll automatically send out 5 units, unless some of them are dead or set as defense unit), regardless of DC of the unit, so it is generally better for people in the front row to use 5 high cost (25-30DC) strong (6*-7*) units and 5 filler units (10-15DC Charles, Fawn, Edwin, etc.), while people in the middle row should balance their unit (1-2 melee 30DC, and a bunch of 20-25DC range units), and people in the back should use all high HP or Iron Wall units they have and concentrate on recovering their own units (150 action points) or cheering front row people (spening 250 action points to recover 150 action points of target team member).

There are several unit swapping tricks to minimize the Guild Points gain of the opoosite team without spending many Potions on your own, but I'll leave that to you guys to figure them out by yourselves when the event actually come to the International sever, because it's more fun that way. Very Happy
(hint: even a single weak 10DC unit defending is better than having no defense and getting a direct hit on your castle which will give 2 times plus some bonus GP to the opposing attacker)


The guild should (hopefully) be disbanded after the event. I don't think I can stand being with some leecher who just pop in the last 10 minutes of the battle just to get the participation reward any longer. At least I got 2 other spenders in my guild, so we were able to Potion/Drink-spam and won several battles though. Razz This is the kind of event that an active member is >>>>>>>>>> than a 6* player that logs in once a day.
