Yeah, but they're way too random to be designer-set maximums. Somewhere there has to be math solving to give us these silly numbers on the top end.

This thread really helped me to clear up the confusion when people started discussing Tiers of cards. Thanks for the really helpful analysis on the tiers of cards Strue Smile

Pretty helpful!

Now, using those tiers, how do you equate value to the cards?

i think stat's alone don't factor into valuation of the cards...
i think overall illustration & a combination of stats makes certain cards more valuable than others...

Yeah, those things aren't linked in a rational way. This market is not as focused on the mechanical value of cards as I am. Wink

Things my chart doesn't consider are appeal, rarity, stupidity, opportunism, commodity value fluctuation,

I'm guessing in the oddball where I value the attack stats of the cards. The artwork is just something for me to look at but I know that's what everyone is basing the values of the cards.

So... What would be the value of the following cards? I know it's a volatile market but just a rough estimate as I'd like to know the current value of my card:

Vlad : ___________
Monica: __________
Reinhard: __________
Dorothea: __________

Vlad : ___________
Monica: __________
Reinhard: __________
Dorothea: __________

Generally top 6*s are worth about 2 mid 6*. Value is extremely sketchy, but generally in terms of value at the time of posting:

#1 Monica
#2 Vlad & Nina & Gloria (generally regarded as same value... a lot of people been trying to 1:1 for Monica with no success)
#3 Anastasia (a few people trying to trade Ana for Vlad / Nina with no success)

Dorothea is worth a bit more than Reinhard. Both as middle tier 5*s though (Dorothea being middle, Reinhard being middle-low).

I can't speak on where Agrippina's value is lately because I haven't been following her (no interest really) -- Although I'm pretty sure it's between #1 and #2 until "new card" demand drops. To assign a numerical value is quite difficult because you would have to calculate the value of the lowest 6*s (Charles is lowest, followed by Alexander) and how many 5*s you might have to trade for them (if even possible to trade 5* up to 6*).

Then you have to worry about how many low 6* you need to trade for a mid 6*. Some mid-high 6* can go for 2 low 6*, or 1 low 6* + 3-4 high 5*s. I wouldn't bother trying to assign a numerical value, everything is mostly traded card for card(s).

i seriously think that the 2 6* for 1 top tier is done now... i haven't seen a trade like that in a while... (i may be wrong though) but i haven't seen a successful 2 6* for 1 6* trade in a LONG time.

I'd say Monica's value depends heavily on whoever is doing the trading... for instance, i've seen multiple instances where someone traded a monica for either Vlad or Gloria 1:1
So i'd say Monica is in the 1:1.5 range...

so the demand order imo is:
#1 Monica (1:1.5) value (still a fairly new card with not that many people trading her out... usually people are wanting to trade mid-tier 6*'s for her so that may be part it)
#2 Nina / Vlad / Gloria / Aggripina (1:1 value)
#3 Anastasia (1:0.75; most people tack on another 5* to seal the deal with her)

For Doro and Rein, here's where the intangibles come into play:
1) Succubus has better stat priority than Doro, but overall Doro is better (illustration being a wash; cost leaning towards doro)
2) I'd say Doro / Succubus / Reinhard / Abel are in the same tier
3) However, the demand comes into play: it appears as though in the current market, Abel is in low demand and although reinhard is worse than Doro and Abel (in my opinion stats wise) Reinhard is in greater demand than either abel or doro

PostSubject: The Value of Edgar   Sat Sep 22, 2012 5:13 pm

Ok so I have been told Edgar was only a mid rank 5* but you have him in Tier 1. My main card is Edgar so this is good news to me. Can I ask why you have placed him into Tier 1? I love the card and want a better explanation his rank.

Good range, good damage and slow. Edgar is pretty useful no matter where you're using him. He's not available in current packs, and he's better than the other 5* ranged slows. Edgar is great, but loses points because people don't like his battle sprite and they don't like that he doesn't have boobs.

Hahaha, I hate his manboobs too. Didn't realise that till my ally told me about it. He dropped from my favourite 5* to the last. And his sprite, geez, if you see him from the front, he is ok, but from the back...

I think Seraphina is a fine card. I think the reason there's more trade in some of her peers in Tier 2 is because of two things:
1: Availability - People seem to really value Victoria, Franziska and Erhard on account of they're less available than Seraphina.
2: Aesthetic - Seraphina just looks kinda sissy! I think she's great, but Erhard, Franz, Vic all have that "Badass" look people jump at. Sofie has a Dragon. Bernhard is a frickin' LION. Seraphina is a fairy. Viv has the other thing people like, which is the "Sexy", so that's going to be an uphill battle unless you're trading with someone who is actually performance savvy.

Geronimo (3*) seems to be missing from the tier list (either that, or I'm blind--entirely possible...).

I'll admit, I'd never seen him and was convinced he was a myth. I have him now, so I'll include him in my next revision of the Tier list.

Over the next couple days I'm going to add the Colosseum cards I'm missing and try to get the Witch and Dragon cards prepped in my stuff. I hope to have a new Tier list by the end of the week.

My only problem with this tier list (and I do think it's great, so don't take me the wrong way) is that it really is only tiers in regards to a more "in general" performance (who is better in more situations? versatility) rather than categorical performance (who is the best melee unit for attacking air-born opponents, for example). There is certainly a great deal of value in versatility, but I don't think specialist units should be disregarded as 'bottom tier' out-of-hand as a result. The bottom tier should be reserved for units that are not the best (or maybe even 2nd or 3rd best) at anything, thus having little-to-know good reason to ever use them other than not having any other option.

Or have I misunderstood your tiering system, and you actually do take things like that into account? >_>

There should be a "Like" button like on Facebook. Is that a possibility Crowex? Haha
