PostSubject: Any ideas about a loan system?   Wed Mar 26, 2014 5:27 pm

I'm a bit hesitant about asking simply because of the fact that it sounds silly and this world is full of deceitful and greedy people, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I'm hoping some vets can help me out.

*le sigh* (feel $t&p!d just typing this)

I'm a free player, and I've been busting my arse trying to level up units so I can get some TE/POTs hoping I can someday buy a 7*. Unfortunately the more time passes the more hopeless it seems. My battery life is nearly non existent due to the hours of continuous play, and I just (accidentally) used 6 goddess to level up the wrong type  Crying or Very sad

CUTTING TO THE CHASE
To simply speed up event boss kills , which yield large exp in one go, and get better rewards I was wondering if we could work something out and I could borrow a 7* or maybe take out a loan and slowly pay for it.

Rather than a 7*, a claudio would be easier to borrow, hell they might even give him to you. Depending on the ally assist you recieve, the +2 boost to female would allow you kill Voleur in 2-3 shots regardless of your lead. Hope this suggestion helps.  Smile

Why will you need a 7* tbh... With a proper mlb 6*, you can literally solo the boss in less than 90 minutes... (ex: Monica does around 140k to boss per fight, so it will take 12 tries to solo her. 12 x 50 = 600 TP, which can be done in a little over 1 hour to solo her)

I checked Claudio's boost and it's actually kind of counter productive seeing as how the boost only compensates for his weak level. It only works if you have high lvl assists (160) otherwise your at a deficit attack strength with the occasional lvl 60 player or worse. But appreciate the suggestion.

Yeah that's kind of what I'm trying to avoid, I've been fighting 90min battles. Luckily, depending on how you look at it, I've been fighting back to back. I'm not sure how many I've killed, but I'm sure it's more than 4 and by that count alone I've spent 6hrs. playing non-stop.

That aside if you want to lend me a "Monica" I would be happy with some progress ^_^

Pretty much what Ryosuke said, a Monica does wonders against Voleur. I have like 6 Monica allies in my ally list occasionally helping me and also other mages and 1 or two 7* mages. I use a VertexU myself to fight.
Takes her down in roughly 2-3hits.

What you should be focusing on is not getting a loaned 7* or whatever. What you should be working on are active mage allies.

I fail to see the problem here, if you can kill the boss and are killing about 4 in 6hrs that's pretty good, and as snowtempest said earlier it is your allies that makes all the difference in beating a boss quickly.

What they all said. It's not your unit that counts, it's the quality of your allies' units that count. Depending on your lead and how active you are, you can find active allies pretty easily. I can kill a Voleur in mere minutes with enough strong assists and a Gluck ally really helps too. If not, it takes me 30 minutes at the most with my leadered mage, but that's really rare. It would mean I only have 6 lousy assists and didn't have much starting TP when Voleur was up.

By the way, I don't think anyone here will lend a new player a 7*, nothing personal.

Well the reality is I would prefer not to spend 6 hours playing only to kill 4 bosses. 6hours is a lot of time to spend playing and not really covering much ground. If some how I could boost the speed that would be great.

Aside from that I do see the importance of allies and I'll definitely look into getting more active allies.

Aside from the current event, though, there are some which don't depend on allies and solely rely on your own units, such as guild battles and board games. So overall strong units are important, and that is the thing I'm trying to address.

I still remember a time when Grace and Selina were my only 6*s. It took me over 2 hours to kill Barbara, the time when I can barely finish the easiest crisis quest. In GW, I still remember the time where attacking an opponent was like hitting a brick wall. My attack team was demolished and I barely scratched the opponent's defending team. The only thing I can do to contribute to the team's GP is to do cannon runs. I'm sure everyone in this game would have had similar experiences.

It would have been great if I had a few hundred TE to start me off. For me, it would however take away the challenge of building a powerful team. But more importantly, let's just say you're walking down a street, a total stranger approaches you and asks, hey can you loan me $500.00? I bet you would say no without batting an eyelash.

My 2 cents worth...this game requires either tons of cash or tons of patience, if you have neither, this game may not be for you. just be patient, you'll be able to get those powerful units before you know it. Smile

Well in your analogy you're not stating whether I have the $500.00. It depends if I have it or how much more I have in fact. I would definitely consider it, perhaps check a credit check, if they have a stable job, home address, some references, background check and reason for needing the money. Then of course I would ensure some sort of legal document ensuring some sort of guarantee.

I'm an investor by nature (when I grow up I want to have an investment firm  Razz )

And, yes, that's kind of the OBVIOUS part about randomly asking for help.

Aside from the current event, though, there are some which don't depend on allies and solely rely on your own units, such as guild battles and board games. So overall strong units are important, and that is the thing I'm trying to address.

* Guild Battle: Money expenditure matters, not unit quality. If someone WANTS to win, they'll do it with a subpar 6* unit lineup and lots of tonics. (GB3, ranked 12th, I'm proof positive of this.) Even with the best lineup of 6/7* units, you can still be steamrolled in a variety of other ways. Ask Paveljevs - he went solo for two GB's with an impressive team, still lost hard in a few battles to cannon spam because they couldn't break his defense.

* Dice/Board Game: 1-3 units are all that matter. Event 6/7* unit has the most impact (Monnaie in Casino event was doing 2.5-3 times more damage than a MLB 7* non-event unit in that event.)

* Gifting - doesn't really matter. 6*'s will suffice.

* Panel - doesn't really matter. 4/5/6*'s will suffice.

* Colosseum - PvE doesn't really matter too much. 6*s are fine. PvP is different, but not by much.

* Defense Event (only Princess for NA so far) - Only need 1 good unit and strong allies. 6* will suffice, here.

* Training event: Only need one good unit who has a high attack value versus the element of the boss (Voleur is Sea-type, so high sea attack unit is good) and a weakness against a certain unit type: Melee/Missile/Magic - therefore, Monica is best in the current event because she has a high Sea Attack value and the boss is weaker to Magic-type units.

The other events are sporadic and spread out (Monster Raising, Tower, Battle Arena, Mina's Trials, etc) so it's hard to set up a specific group of units just for that.

Get one GOOD 6* and go from there.

7*'s will drop in value over time. 6*'s USED to be in the 100+ range (even Monica) but with time and volume, those cards have become MUCH easier for the average player to acquire. So much so that unless they increase the pull rate of 7*'s and 8*'s in packs, there will truly be ZERO reason to pull packs for ANYTHING other than event units and items for ranking. That's a really terrifying thought - used to be that a 6* that you pull from a pack would almost make up for the cost of the pack on the secondary market. These days, not so much. (Many standard pack-pullable 6*'s are worth less than 30 TE/Pots and there's certainly very little demand.)

Giving Giselle, Grace, Selina, and Bristol to every active player pretty much eliminated the market for 5* units other than collecting, using as feeders to level up other cards, or vanity. It's nearly impossible to find a new player that can even USE a 5* for free as a kind gesture.

So how much of this are you providing in exchange for us handing a 7* to a total stranger?

Anyways, if you want to play this game as a free player you need to pick your spots. You need to plan your progress.

Right now you probably have Giselle and Bristol as your best cards, that should make you competitive for some simple rewards. Learn how the events work, I'm going to finish this event with 20 tradeable pots (at some point in the future that is).

That's enough to get me one 6* from a pretty good selection of cards (including that Monica that people keep mentioning in this thread).

This event is a bit generous, but most events have a way for you to earn a few tradeable pots / TE.

I won my first 6* because I noticed a recent event was practically giving them out and got some good advice on the forums for how to compete effectively. It cost me around 30 TE(p) to do it too.

I've also never tried to get a 6* from Panel because that's just not feasible for me without paying.

If you're investment inclined then you'll enjoy the trade / planning aspect of the game. Collecting resources turning them into better resources, knowing when to apply your efforts, ect. It's quite the meta game itself.

well this turned out to be a longer thread than I thought but there is a simple answer to your original question.

no most people will not let you borrow a 7* without the proper collateral which you most likely don't have, and I'm not quite sure what type of loan you are referring to because if its real money then you can simply just buy a 7* with that.

Well essentially that's one of the main underlining questions what exactly is a good collateral? Short of providing a 7* how could I make it work?

As a side not what the best way to obtain tradable Te/pots? I've only received a couple from event.

If you are looking at te/pots only, then yeah it's not even a handful. Just a bit here and there. You need to consider other items that offers value. Godesses for one may be traded for items if not te/pots directly. Dream tix/4*+tix gives you units that you can trade as is or level to further enhance value to sell. Event items (arrest warrants) during training, these convert to tradeable pots. Had 18 which would be tradeable pots after about a couple of events. Put all of these together and you would have a sizeable value. During the thief event alone I estimate to have recieve at least 25te worth of items that I can trade.

Not to mention te(p) and pot(p) given out during the event. Yes they are not tradeable but accumulate a substantial number and you can use them to rank and acquire goodies that are tradeable. The roll the dice event is the clear winner in this aspect where I've acumulated roughly 45-50 pots and almost the same number of te.

Good collateral generally is something of equal or higher value
